Why mattresses in Singapore need deep cleaning

Singapore’s heat and humidity are ideal for dust mites. They feed on the dead skin we shed every night, and their droppings are a common trigger for sneezing, itchy eyes, eczema flare-ups and asthma. Sweat soaks into the top layers and leaves yellow stains and a sour smell. A mattress protector slows this down, but it doesn’t stop it. Washing your sheets doesn’t reach what’s inside the mattress.

How our mattress cleaning works

Mattress deep cleaning, sometimes called mattress washing or mattress sanitising, is done at your home. Mattresses can’t go in a washing machine, so we clean them in place with low-moisture methods:

1. Inspect. We check the mattress type (spring, foam, latex or hybrid) and note stains and problem areas.
2. Dust mite vacuum. A high-suction vacuum with HEPA filtration pulls out mites, dead skin and allergens from deep in the surface layers.
3. Stain treatment. We pre-treat sweat, urine, blood and drink stains with a cleaner suited to the fabric.
4. Steam sanitising. High-temperature steam kills mites and bacteria without soaking the mattress.
5. Extraction (if needed). For urine and heavy stains, we flush and extract to remove the source of the smell.
6. Deodorise and dry. We use low moisture throughout, so your mattress is usually dry and ready to sleep on within a few hours.

Does mattress cleaning get rid of bed bugs?

Steam kills bed bugs and eggs it touches, but bed bugs also hide in bed frames, walls and furniture. For an active infestation, you need a licensed pest control company. We can clean and sanitise the mattress as part of the recovery.

Do you clean both sides?

Yes, if your mattress is designed to be flipped. One-sided mattresses (most pillow-top and hybrid mattresses) are cleaned on the sleeping side and the edges.
