How to Choose a Sofa Cleaning Service in Singapore (8 Questions to Ask)
8 questions to ask before booking a sofa cleaner in Singapore, the red flags to avoid, and what a fair price looks like.

Picking a sofa cleaner in Singapore is harder than it looks. Prices range from $50 to over $250 for the same sofa, and the cheapest quotes are often steam-only jobs that leave the dirt behind. Use this checklist of 8 questions to ask before you book, and the red flags to watch for.
8 questions to ask before you book
- “Is your quote fixed or ‘from’?” Send photos and ask for a fixed price. “From $X” often turns into more on the day.
- “Do you extract the dirt, or only steam?” Steam alone sanitises but removes little dirt. For a dirty sofa you want hot-water extraction. See steam vs shampoo.
- “How will you clean my fabric?” A good cleaner asks about the care code (W, S, SW or X) and the fabric type, especially for velvet, linen or leather.
- “Is stain treatment included?” Check whether normal stains are included or charged extra per stain.
- “Do you treat urine differently?” Urine needs enzyme treatment plus extraction. Ordinary shampoo can make the smell worse.
- “How long until it’s dry?” Expect 4 to 6 hours for extraction. Much longer means too much water, which risks mould in Singapore.
- “What if a stain doesn’t come out?” Honest cleaners tell you upfront which stains may be permanent.
- “Are there transport or minimum charges?” Small jobs sometimes carry hidden fees.
Red flags
- Prices far below the market (for example $30 for a 3-seater). Usually steam only, or there are add-ons on the day
- No photos or reviews of real jobs
- “100% stain removal guaranteed” for every stain, which nobody can honestly promise
- They push expensive add-ons (protector, sanitiser) before even seeing the sofa
- Your sofa is soaked and still damp the next day
What a fair price looks like
For a fabric sofa with deep extraction, expect roughly $40 to $60 per seat in Singapore: about $80 to $150 for a 2-seater and $120 to $200 for a 3-seater. Leather, velvet and urine treatment cost more. Full breakdown: sofa cleaning price in Singapore.
Platform vs specialist vs freelancer
| Option | Pros | Watch out for |
|---|---|---|
| Booking platforms | Easy booking, reviews | Cleaner quality varies, and platform fees are built into the price |
| Specialist upholstery cleaners | Right equipment and fabric know-how, fixed quotes | Check that they show real job photos |
| Marketplace freelancers | Often cheapest | Equipment, insurance and consistency vary a lot |
